You Tiao

April 11th, 2011Art, Food2 Comments

Fresh-off-the-frying-wok youtiao (油条), a Chinese-style crullers at a morning wet market in Penang. These youtiao are made from scratch by hand and you can watch the vendor kneading the dough, shaping the youtiao, and deep-frying them to a glorious crispy golden brown. I love going to the wet market, there are so many things to see, eat, and explore.

We organize a Rasa Malaysia Penang Culinary Tour that covers the many culinary treasures in Penang–the food capital of Malaysia. Click here to learn more about Penang Culinary tour.

Need the recipe desperately….didn’t eat it for the last 15 years or so. Miss anything Malaysian dearly.
