Crabby Junk Food
This crabby junk food is my favorite–crunchy, sweet, savory, aromatic, and simply addictive. The other junk food I love is satay jellyfish. Do you eat junk food? If so, what’s your favorite?
My good friend F gave me some bananas and the secret flour mix from Malaysia and I fried up a batch of pisang goreng or fried bananas. It was the best pisang goreng (fried bananas) ever—crispy, crunchy, and airy. Absolutely delicious!

If you grew up in Malaysia, I am sure you have seen these colorful little biscuits called “attap chee” in Hokkien. I chanced upon them when I was at the Pulau Tikus wet market in Penang recently. I got a packet for my son; he will soon be able to enjoy all the treats that his mother grew up eating!
