Anthony Bourdain and I at Line Clear Nasi Kandar, Penang.
It was a dream comes true to have “met” an idol, a hero, and a legend. Thanks to No Reservations for coming to Penang and I can’t wait to see the episode.

Great! Love his show and looking forward to seeing you in an episode. More power to both of you
Wow. My husband and I were in Penang last week too. We fell in love with the island, food, and people.
I am so glad the production team chose you as one of the guides for Tony in Penang. All things considered, they could have messed up by selecting someone unenthusiastic or uninformed – it seems to be a trend whenever a US film crew visits Penang. Very excited for you and for the episode to air.
No, I am not in the show. I just met him during his shooting.
Very nice done job. Like your photo.
I just found your site through foodgawker. I love the photo and recipe of the shrimp so I checked out your tip on crunchy shrimp. I so want to try this. Then I saw you shop at 99 Ranch, so I thought wow a neighbor. Then I saw no reservations and Bordain was in Penang. So I thought I would comment and look what I found. Bourdain had a good time and the food looked wonderful. I will now have to bookmark you in my SoCal folder.
So delighted to find your blog! I look forward to learning and sharing. Strangely, though I am an enthusiastic foodie tapped into those resources, I actually found you from House Hunters. I hope your new house in Penang is everything you hope for.
I miss Line Clear… Easily the best Nasi kandar I’ve ever had…
Hi Bee, I moved overseas frm kl and for the first time in my life I have found myself craving for the essential Malaysian staples of nasi lemak, teh Tarik, sambal, prawn mee, popiah etc etc and just grumbling to myself for not being able to get these at the nearby coffee shop… So I am so grateful for your blogs and recipes. Have to cook nasi lemak for my son’s school topic on international breakfasts so thank you for your sharing. One thing I am craving for is chee cheong fun with the heh bee paste and shallots. Have you made that before ? Love yr site, will be telling every Malaysian I can find in Norway !
